FRAT CUP - R2 - Kemblawarra Fury v Bulli

KEMBLAWARRA FURY AND BULLI ENDS IN A DRAW

After wins by both teams in Round one of the Fraternity Club Cup, Kemblawarra Fury and Bulli had to settle for a draw in their Round two encounter at Tarrawanna Oval.

Action in the fast paced and entertaining game began the moment the referee blew his whistle with Kemblawarra Fury immediately having a shot at goal which proved unsuccessful.

By the five-minute mark though, Kemblawarra Fury were once again in a position to attempt a shot at goal but this time with success as Sam Munro scored from outside the box to take Kemblawarra Fury to a 1-0 lead over Bulli.

The score was levelled in the 14th minute with a pass from Bulli’s Sam Davies to the centre of the box which enabled team mate Julian Minutillo to shoot the ball into the left hand corner of the goal.

A free kick in the 23rd minute was awarded to Bulli enabling them to slip the ball through the goal keeper’s hands and into the right hand bottom corner of the net. This helped Bulli take the lead 2-1.

Not long after, Kemblawarra Fury had a chance to even the score however Bulli’s goal keeper Yuyu Kuwata came up with an important and good save.

The first half concluded with an unsuccessful attempt at goal by Bulli leaving the score at half time Bulli – 2, Kemblawarra Fury - 1.

As with the first half, the second half began at a fast pace and with an unsuccessful attempt at goal, this time by Bulli’s Corey Horner. Bulli, again had another goal attempt, this time, a powerful shot from Scott Burleigh which just missed the mark.

Kemblawarra Fury had their own missed opportunity when Shane Murray’s cross went agonisingly across the goal with no Kemblawarra player in sight.

Not long after, Bulli’s Julian Minutillo had a good chance to score but the ball sailed over the goal.

Kemblawarra Fury was eventually able to level the score in the 26th minute thanks to a goal by Alvin Ceccoli courtesy of a penalty.

A powerful attempt at goal not long after from Kemblawarra Fury’s Sam Munro was unsuccessful in breaking the deadlock.

Full time resulted in a 2-2 draw which kept both teams alive for the final playoff spot in the Fraternity Club Cup semi-finals.

Overall, it was an intense but entertaining game. Both teams had the chance to take the game with plenty of opportunities and chances. However, both teams were unable to finish when they needed to and come away with a win.

Bulli will meet Wollongong United FC in the next round while Kemblawarra Fury will take on South Coast United FC in matches that will ultimately decide who tops the group.

Kemblawarra Fury – 2 (Alvin Ceccoli, Sam Munro)

Bulli – 2 (Dylan Lewis, Julian Minutillo)
