FRATERNITY CUP PREMIER LEAGUE ROUND 3 WRAP

The Group A match between Woonona Sharks and Albion Park White Eagles opened the third round of the Fraternity Cup on Thursday night. In a dead rubber, Woonona hit the lead within five minutes through Valentino Merxhushi. The White Eagles levelled the score only a couple of minutes into the second half with Shayne Ardle finishing off a killer passing move. Both sides came close to grabbing a winner but the match would finish 1-1. Woonona finishes 3rd in Group A with 2 points while the White Eagles prop everyone up with just the single point.

The second match on Thursday night saw Cringila take on South Coast United in a Group B encounter. Cringila needs a big win to keep their faint final four hopes alive and they took the lead after 25 minutes via Alex Brbevski. Ibrahim Sesay doubled Cringila's lead midway through the second half and there was no way back for United who were reduced to 10 men in the final minutes of the match. South Coast finish at the bottom of Group B without a point or a goal and Cringila finish 2nd with 6 points.

On Sunday at Memorial Park, Wollongong Olympic met Bulli for the midday kickoff with the winner progressing through to the final four. The opening goal came just before halftime thanks to a long-range piledriver from Tobin Zoomers. Second half substitute Nik Miceski doubled Bulli's lead in the 53rd minute and he made it 3-0 just two minutes later. Olympic pulled one back thanks to a great header from Jake Duczynski but Bulli would run out 3-1 winners, topping Group A with 7 points - 1 point ahead of Olympic in 2nd.

The last match at Memorial Park was the second Group B match and it was between Corrimal Rangers and Wollongong United. United took the lead with a quarter of an hour gone, a pinpoint Daisuke Yuzawa was finished off by Sam Munro - his second in as many matches. Corrimal couldn't find an equaliser and finish the tournament in 3rd on 3 points, United progress in 1st with a perfect 9 points.

Wetherall Park hosted the two Group C matches on Sunday. The midday fixtures saw Fernhill go head to head with Picton in a contest for preparation and pride. There was little to separate the sides but an unfortunate goalkeeping error from Foxes' keeper Ben Wunsch gifted a tap-in to Ben Roberts. The 1-0 win means Picton finish 3rd in Group C while Fernhill finish bottom.

The last match at Wetherall Park was between Port Kembla and Tarrawanna, two of the form sides in this season's tournament. The Blueys took a first-half advantage into the sheds thanks to a Darren Jones goal in the 26th minute. Liam Unicomb made it 2-0 to Tarrawanna on the hour mark but Ben Zucco grabbed a goal back a minute later from the penalty mark for the Zebras. Ultimately, the match would finish 2-1 to Tarrawanna, who finish on top of Group C with a perfect record - Port Kembla finish as the best second-placed side and also progress to the semi finals.
