AYL: ROUND 2 REVIEW

Sadly, just one game was played to complete our round 2 club matches against Nepean. The Under 13's kicked off the day however the weather progressively got worse subsequently forcing all other games to be postponed.

Under 13 - Nepean 0 - 3 Football South Coast
Following last week's defeat, the boys were out to get their first points for the season. They started the game on the front foot and showed good early intentions to score. Some excellent driving runs from full back Alessandro Calmisini went unrewarded in the early stages of the match. Mid way through the first half, a terrific pass from Blake Cornford found Blake Peterson unmarked and he showed good control and poise to slot it home to put FSC ahead.

We went into the break one-up however a sensational freekick from Ben Cornford early in the second half saw FSC take a two goal lead. Nepean threw players forward in vain as FSC wrapped up match after Peterson again managed to get another assist, this time teeing up Archer Butkovic who was left with an easy tap in to make it three.

Overall, it was a great reaction to last week's disappointment particularly given the weather conditions.

Alessandro Calmisini was awarded the Player of the week for working hard to understand the cues for transition in training and applying them in the match to great effect.
