Coniston FC 4 (Tomohito Fujieda 31’, 57’, Brett Wilson 39’, 52’) Cringila Lions 0

A matchup between Coniston and Cringila kicked off the third round of the Fraternity Club Cup with Coniston prevailing in a 4-0 victory at Crehan Park on Thursday night.

Braces from Tomohito Fujieda and Brett Wilson ensured the points for Coniston. This second successive 4-0 victory sees the side cement top place in Group E. They will now play against Shell Cove in the quarterfinals.

As for the Lions, they will finish the Group stage in last place having failed to win any of their games in the competition.

Wollongong United 2 (Joshua Correia 40’, Billy Tsovolos 56’) Albion Park White Eagles 0

In the second match of Thursday night, Wollongong United defeated Albion Park 2-0 at Macedonia Park.

The scoring was opened five minutes into the second period when Joshua Correia found the net. This advantage was doubled in the 56th minute when Billy Tsovolos scored.

This result sees Wollongong United go top of Group F with the side still yet to concede a goal in the competition. United will feature against University in the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

The White Eagles second defeat in a row sees them bow out of the competition finishing at the bottom of the group and out of contention for a place in the knockout stages.

Wollongong Olympic 7 (Julian Minutillo 22’, Rhys Mooy 29’, Corey Haines-Grose 35’, 43’, 58’, Mark Every 48’, Keegan Matias 70’) Woonona Sharks 2 (Jai Mellor 19’, Tomohiro Ishii 61’)

The first game Premier League game on Sunday saw a nine-goal thriller at Memorial Park with reigning League Champions Wollongong Olympic dismantling Woonona 7-2.

The Sharks started the game well finding the net through Jai Mellor who converted a cross in from the left-hand side. However, three minutes later, the scores were level when Julian Minutillo finished off a fast breakaway. Just before the half-hour mark, Olympic took the lead through Rhys Mooy.

A hattrick to former Sharks’ star Corey Haines-Grose and defender Mark Every saw the side go up 6-1. Sharks defender Tomohiro Ishii added some respectability to the scoreline when he capitalised on a spilt cross following a corner situation. Despite this, Olympic added one more goal through youngster Keegan Matias who sent a piercing volley past Jack Churchward in the Woonona goal in the dying seconds of the match.

Wollongong Olympic will finish Group D in first place ahead of Tarrawanna on goal difference. They will play Fernhill Foxes in the knockout stage of the competition while Woonona will head out of the cup having finished in bottom position.

Tarrawanna Blueys 1 (Tyson Black 32’) Bellambi Rosellas 0

In the first match at Wetherall Park on Sunday in the Premier League section of the Fraternity Club Cup, Tarrawanna edged past Bellambi 1-0.

The only goal of the game came three minutes before the break when Tyson Black converted.

This result sees the Blueys through to the quarterfinals where they will look to defeat last season’s District League grand finalists Oak Flats.

For the Rosella’s however, they will bow out of the competition finishing third in the group - failing to score a goal across either of their games.

South Coast United 1 (Ivan Bratjanscak 33’) Port Kembla 1 (Jordan Hughes 42’)

South Coast United and Port Kembla were unable to be split in the second Premier League game of the round with the sides drawing 1-1 at Wetherall Park.

Ivan Bratjanscak scored for the second game running when he opened the scoring for United just before the break before Jordan Hughes scored early in the second half to restore parity for Port.

A draw was not enough to see United through to the quarterfinals finishing the group stage in second place two points behind Coniston. Port Kembla were also unable to qualify for the next phase of the competition finishing in third place.

Corrimal Rangers 4 (Taira Yoshimura 7’, Rick Goodchild 26’, Jake Morlando 48’, 50’) Bulli FC 2 (Sam Davies 18’, Sam Miranda 64’)

In the final game of the group stage of the Fraternity Club Cup, Corrimal Rangers defeated Bulli 4-2 at Memorial Park.

Taira Yoshimura opened the scoring for the Rangers scoring inside seven minutes. Ten minutes later, Bulli levelled the scores through Sam Davies. Corrimal retook the lead in the 26th minute through Rick Goodchild seeing his side go into the break in the lead. A quickfire fire double midway through the second half from Jake Morlando saw Rob Jonovski’s team take a 4-1 lead. Bulli’s Sam Miranda scored a consolation goal with six minutes to play.

This result wasn’t enough to see the Rangers into the quarterfinals with the side finishing in second place while their opponents finish in 3rd in the final standings of Group F.
