With three games going simultaneously on across Sydney, my reports are compiled by other people.
The most important match was at Drummoyne Oval where the Balmain Dockers hosted the Western Wolves. As is tradition betweeen these two keen rivals, things were tight between the two teams until the final quarter where the Wolves kicked away to record a 33 point win. With the win Wests secured 2nd place and the double chance. The Final score was Wests 9.4.58 to Balmain 4.1.25
The second match at Olds Park saw St George Dragons hosting Newtown Breakaways. Although the Breakaways didn't have all of their squad available, they were made hard to work for their win on the wide open spaces of Olds Park. The Breakaways decided to reward Newtown president of their club Bec Burridge in her efforts for Golden Boot award by directing the play towards her (separate story). Final score was Newtown was 63 - St George 18.
The third match was at the wide circle of Sydney Uni Oval No. 1 where the Uni Bombers decided to make today their grand final, whilst the Shamrocks tried to look further to next week. However the Uni Bombers were fired up today and was not to be denied. They comprehensively ran over the Shamrocks 13.8.86 to 2.4.16.
