Semi-Final Preview
In the minor semi-final at Mahoney
(Home Team: Sydney University) take on the (Away team: Western Wolves)
at 11am. With the loser to be eliminated, there is much to play for. In
the head to head record this year the Bombers have not been kind to the
Wolves winning both matches by big margins, so it will be up to the
Wolves brains trust to put the acid on the Bombers.
In the major semi-final at 1pm also at Mahoney
(Home Team: Balmain Dockers) take on the (Away team: Newtown
Breakaways). The winner goes immediately to the Grand Final and the
reward of a weeks rest whilst the loser gets to play the winner of the
match above. This is potentially a dangerous game for the Dockers. Last
year the undefeated Breakaways lost this match to the Wolves and had to
win the preliminary final before advancing to the Grand Final. Is it
time to "lose the game, we needed to lose" or is "don't flirt with
form"? So far in the matches between the two sides, the Dockers have won
by at least by 5 goals so it'll be up to the coaches to work out their
strategies.
Obviously two great games of footy coming up and
the NAB staff will be at the canteen to tell you about the wonderful
financial services products they can offer you.
A reminder to all four finals coaches, that all
your players that you are playing in the finals must have played at
least 4 SWAFL Home and Away games in 2010 to be eligible for finals
participation and have been recorded on the gamesheet. Please read Rule 18 of the SWAFL Rules.
