The Townsville girls handed the Cyclones a shock loss, with the lead going back and forth in the opening half before the visitors held a six-point lead going into the halftime break. The Flames fired up at the end of the third quarter, coming back from 10 points down to start the final quarter ahead by three points. Townsville held on to their advantage to take the win, thanks to a number of Rockhampton errors and sharp shooting from a number of Flames players. Lisa Braunberger top-scored for Townsville with 17 points with team-mate Simone Page on 16. Shanavia Dowdell had a game-high 20 points.

The Heat made it two-from-two for the Townsville teams, with this close match that saw the home side lead for much of the match, the Rockets coming back to take the lead at the end of the third quarter. Townsville were too strong and bounced back to seal the win. Chris Cedar put up 28 points for Townsville, while Ryan McDade shot 20 for Rocky.
