QNJBC #2 in Cairns/Mulgrave

U14 & U16 Team results

An over-all successful weekend for our U14 and U16 representative teams who travelled up north to Cairns and Mulgrave at the weekend. Here are the results;

U14 Flames – 4 wins and 0 losses

The Flames had a great weekend after knocking off Cairns in their final match to remain undefeated for QNJBC #2.

U14 Lightning Girls – 2 wins and 1 loss

The Lightning girls had a reasonably good weekend, narrowly missing out on the win in their last game of the round, going down by 1 in over-time to Mackay.

U14 Heat – 3 wins and 1 loss

The Heat had some good wins, including their 7 point nail biter against Mackay on Saturday. However meeting Cairns in the final game was a tough way to end the weekend dropping that to a very talented team.

U14 Lightning Boys – 2 wins and 2 losses

The Lightning boys had a very rough start to the weekend dropping their first 2 games to a fired up Cairns team twice in a row including a. By the end of the weekend they finished with a 50% record with 2 great bounce back efforts.

U16 Flames – 3 wins and 1 loss

The flames girls had some good wins against Mackay and Burdekin, however going down twice to Cairns in their first and last games.

U16 Lightning Girls – 3 wins and 0 losses

The Lightning girls has great weekend. While having 2 healthy wins against Mackay and Mulgrave, they came out against Cairns and won a cliff hanger by 2 points.

U16 Heat – 3 wins and 1 loss

The Heat boys knocked off Mackay and Townsville Lightning on Saturday, both in tight tussles until the final quarter. On Saturday Night they definitely learnt from their game against Cairns losing by 20points, before turning it around Sunday morning and beating them by 8 points.

U16 Lightning – 4 losses

The Lightning boys are still finding their straps in the Division 1 competition. Although all games were toughly contested their second halves didn’t match the first half scores. Although there were some large margins a couple of scores didn’t reflect the on court battle.

Congratulations to all teams.

Onward and upward to the next QNJBC, in Townsville in a few weeks.
