DENNIS’ COMPUTERS EXTENDS SUPPORT OF TOWNSVILLE FLAMES

Hot on the heels of securing the signatures of JCU Townsville Fire stars Nat Novosel and Chevannah Paalvast, Townsville Basketball has received a further boost with Dennis’ Computers committing their support to the QBL program to continue as naming rights partner of the Townsville Flames in 2016.

Dennis’ Computers has been a long term partner of Townsville Basketball with the business now heading the fifth season as Flames naming rights partner. The affiliation goes far deeper than the significant support offered to the QBL program from another outstanding Townsville based business, Dennis’ Computers also offers significant support to the day to day operations of Townsville Basketball and assistance to help junior basketball function in the city.

Townsville Basketball QBL program manager Greg Vanderjagt felt the move to secure the long-time Flames naming rights partner of the Flames helps pave the pathway for the continued development of not only the QBL program but also the TBI junior development pathway.

“When young female players join our association and can see elite player’s week in, week out in their own backyard it is inspiring for them to one day pull on the Flames singlet. Having Dennis’ Computers continue to support our QBL program solidifies our development pathway and ensures that our very talented crop of junior female’s athletes are able to strive for high achievement all within our association”.

“Local businesses like Dennis’ Computers get involved in grass roots sport to support junior players and the Flames team is just the pinnacle of the pathway in Townsville Basketball. We want to ensure our program is sustainable and develop athletes who represent the Flames and then go on to bigger and better things such as winning championships with the JCU Townsville Fire or representing our country in national programs”.

Dennis’ Computers owner Dennis Evans said the move to continue his support of the Flames was an easy one.

“The Flames team and Townsville Basketball have always been a great presence in our local community. As a local business I love being able to support such a passionate and dedicated group of young ladies and to see them realise their own individual dreams on the Basketball court. It is fantastic to have the opportunity to support Townsville Basketball to help more young players to reach their goals in the future by hopefully playing for the Flames in the QBL”.

With the season tip-off now only 38 days away, pre-season preparations for the team are shifting into high gear for the Flames. After a successful first pre-season weekend and adding two very talented players this week to the roster the Dennis’ Computers Flames are well positioned to make a play-off push this season.

Season tickets and membership packages are still available for 2016. For more information please contact Townsville Basketball on 4778 3400 during business hours.
