Share your #MackayPride moment

 

SHARE your pride and you could bring four people to Mackay to experience what our region has to offer.

 

The Share your Pride campaign was officially launched today by Mayor Deirdre Comerford alongside Olympic gold medallist Linda Single nee Mackenzie and  QBL champion TJ Diop.

 

The competition is encouraging local residents to share an image or message online about their #MackayPride moment.

 

“Sharing our pride is an important part of celebrating our community and capturing the spirit of our region,” Cr Comerford said.

 

Supported by helloworld Mackay & Mt Pleasant and Oaks Hotels & Resorts, by simply showing what you are proud of puts you in the draw to win flights for four people from an east coast capital city and five nights’ accommodation at Oaks Rivermarque.

 

Cr Comerford said locals need to be vocal advocates of the region’s assets.

 

“We have a lot to be proud about and this new initiative provides the platform to showcase all that we have to offer,” she said.

 

The online competition is the next phase in the highly successful #MackayPride initiative, which council launched 12 months ago.

Oaks Rivermarque Hotel Manager Gareth Galloway is excited about the competition’s potential.

 

“Oaks Hotels & Resorts has made a significant investment in the region with the opening of Oaks Rivermarque and Oaks Carlyle within 12 months of each other. We are excited to be part of an initiative that engages the community and reflects what is great about where we live,” he said.

 

“It is a challenging economic period for many people but there are so many good things happening and we want people to celebrate what we love about this region. It’s time we focus on the positives about our community,” Cr Comerford said.
