Referee action days a success

With still one more action day to go the expected size of the panel of officials selected to officiate in the 2015 Molten Waratah League will exceed over 130 referees'.

"I'm really pleased to see so many officials commit to officiating in our leagues, the numbers speak for themselves, over 400 officials to date have attended our events, they all received the latest points of emphasis and education on the new rules that have been introduced" said Debbie Keirs the Senior Manager for Technical and Events for Basketball NSW.

To officiate in the 2015 Molten Waratah League officials are required to attended one of the referee action day, pass both theory and fitness test plus be an active official at their local association.

Basketball NSW is committed to the development of our officials and with the support of a dedicated team of referee coaches, a large number of games will be assessed in 2015, the assessment of games includes the use of game clips plus post-game feedback.

About the 2015 Molten Waratah League

The 2015 Molten Waratah League will commence of February 14, with 7 divisions on offer, 81 teams will battle it out over 21 weeks of competition, with the finals set to take place on the 1st and 2nd of August.
