Cyclones Re-sign Chandrea Jones
The Frenchville Sports Club Rockhampton Cyclones are excited to announce the re-signing of American Chandrea Jones for the 2013 QBL season.
Jones, played for American powerhouse college Syracuse, had a standout year with the Cyclones last season and was named to the 2012 QBL All Star team after finishing in the league’s top ten in rebounds and points.
Jones is currently competing in final for the top ranked Finnish Catz Lappeenranta. She is averaging a team high 16.8 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game as her team finished the regular season with a 28-2 win/loss record.
Cyclones coach Heath Millar is understandably excited by the signing. “Chandrea was a legitimate MVP calibre player in the QBL last year and was a key component in the team that won the rights to host a home quarter final last season.”
“It is a relief to re-sign a player that knows our structures and what we expect from our playing group. Chandrea will be able to come in and pick up right where she left off last season.”
Jones is expected to arrive in Rockhampton in early May and will miss the Cyclones first home game vs. Mackay on 27th April but will be available to travel to Gladstone on May 12th for their road opener against the strong Gladstone Power side.
