Bendigo Under 12 Victorian Country Championships
The Victorian Country Championships were held over the 28th-30th of March at Bendigo where our Under 12 Teams competed for the Vic Country Titles.
Our G12 Meteors led by Mark van Dyk had an undefeated Day 1 with comfortable wins over Macedon, Portland & Corio Bay. Day 2 was another successful day beating Southern Peninsula by 20, Maffra by 17 & Swan Hill in a close one by 3pts.
Day 3 - Division 1 - Quarter Final Moe 23 df Traralgon 19, Semi Final Moe 36 df Wodonga 32
Division 1 Championship Final - What a sensational Effort by Mark & the Girls to just fall short of the Title. The Team fell behind early and trailed for the entire game, the girls finished off strong to get within 11 points of the Ballarat Girls. Bad Luck Team, but what a fantastic Overall Team Effort.

Our Boys had a tough start on Day 1 losing two close games to Seymour & Mansfield and losing heavily against Southern Peninsula. Day 2 - Megan's boys bounced back with 2 tightly fought wins against Kyneton & Churchill but suffered a 6 point lose to Orbost. The Team then played a Round of 16 clash to qualify for the Div 4 Quarter Finals against Ararat, Our boys gave it their all to win 64 to 21 to set up a re-match with Mansfield in the Quarter Finals. Mainsfield over ran our boys to go on and lose a tight Grand Final to Shepparton. Bad Luck Boys, hopefully this experience will assist all involved for Future Tournaments & Championships.
