At the conclusion of the QBL season Ray returned to the USA where he was later drafted by the NBA D-League side LA D-Fenders with the 17th pick (Round 3). After time with the D-Fenders, Ray made his way to Germany as part of club side Phoenix Hagen, before then choosing to sign with the Perth Redbacks for the upcoming 2015 SBL campaign.

Ray arrived in the country on January 30 & has already been training with the side.
