The sounds of chanting, yelling and cheering could be heard from afar, with students encouraging their respective teams.  A popular sport with Avele College was the hurdles, with some students running so fast that the crowd screamed even louder until the end of the race.  On speaking to one of the teachers from another school, he said "we have looked forward to this day with great excitement, as it has been a long time since we last competed."  The students generated great energy, with drums pounding, hands clapping, voices chanting, and bodies gyrating, leaders of the cheer teams managed to excite the crowd again and again into loud cheers and chants.  This seemed to encourage athletes even more towards winning their different events.  It was an exciting day being a spectator at these athletics games, with students practicing on the sidelines while others continued on competing, and still others chanting and cheering their sporting house towards completiion.
