NAGAMBIE v VIOLET TOWN
Nagambie can do no wrong and it is firming for the premiership with each win.
The reigning premier has already beaten Tallygaroopna, Lancaster, Avenel and Stanhope this season, which shows they have lost none of their hunger.
They are a well-balanced line-up ably lead by coach Abby Misti.
They have no weaknesses and have the ability to swing players around the court to cover for any players out of the team.
Violet Town has won its past three matches, but this will be a huge test of their improvement when confronting arguably the best team in the competition.
Pip O’Donoghue knows only the best from her team will give them a chance of inflicting a loss on Nagambie.
Tip: Nagambie.
GIRGARRE v MERRIGUM
Merrigum got its season back on track with a win against Ardmona.
Last year’s finalists have not enjoyed the best start to the season, but a win here in this contest against Girgarre will keep the pressure up on sixth placed Murchison.
The Bulldog girls have averaged 38 goals a match and conceded 42 goals per match.
Girgarre has two wins this season and it will be eager to turnaround its recent run of outs of late.
This will be a tight contest and scoreboard pressure will be important as will making the most of your opportunities.
Tip: Merrigum.
LANCASTER v MURCHISON
After jumping out of the blocks with three straight wins, Murchison has slipped to sixth on the table after winning only once in the past month.
Phil Bryant would be reasonably pleased with the improvement to date, but he knows to match it with the competition’s big guns that only four consistent quarters will be good enough.
Lancaster has started to find some real form of late and it should prove too strong for Murchison and continue its climb up the ladder.
Tip: Lancaster.
In the other matches, Avenel should be refreshed and raring to go when it travels to take on Undera, Tallygaroopna should be too strong for Rushworth and Ardmona should chalk up a rare victory when hosting Longwood.
Tips: Avenel, Tallygaroopna and Ardmona.
