Panthers in the Last Minute

The Port Augusta Basketball Association would just like to thank the Port Pirie Basketball Association for hosting us in an exciting night of local Basketball between Devils & Panthers.

Our Under 10 Girls were too strong for Pirie's young girls and the reserve was the case for the Under 10 Boys. The 12 Boys was a match up of the Champs from the last two carnivals and after a close match up in the first game we were beaten easily in the second game and still have some work to do.

The A Men game was the highlight of the night. Our team was undersized but due to our even spread, Port Pirie were forced to match up with our abilities, which helped us in the having to defend their bigs. We lead for most of the game, only to stall in the final few minutes when Brett Humphrys went off with a calf injury.

7 seconds to go they hit a 3 to put them up by 1. We were unable to come up with a great shot but had the chance on the rebound but was unable to finish. We now look forward to the Senior Country Championships at Wayville Sports Centre next weekend.
