The form of Rochester under the guidance of new coach James Flaherty has been near faultless.
Yes, he would tell you, there is still room for improvement.
And, other coaches would probably agree that they can only get better given the fact that Elliott Bowen and Sam Brennan have been sidelined for a period of time with injury and suspension.
Bowen is close to a return while Brennan still has a few weeks to sit out.
The inclusion of Steven Stroobants has gone some way to filling the void left by century goal-kicker Grant Weeks.
Stroobants’ reward has been selection in the league’s interleague team as well as the Vic Country squad.
But it is the evenness of the Tigers which is their strength, coupled with the emergence of some of their younger players such as Daniel Hamilton and Jordan Foott.
After a less than impressive start to 2015, Mansfield has bounced back with four wins from their past five matches, including the scalps of Kyabram and Mooroopna in back to back weeks.
George Burbury, Nick Gray, Chris Fagan Mark Jones, Jamie Sheahan have been all players to really lead by example for the Eagles, but coach Simon Dolling says the wins have come about due to an even contribution from the group.
“Our stars have played well and we expect that from them, but it is the fact that our middle tier and bottom six players have contributed that has made a big difference.
The Eagles will not fear going to Rochester, having won their last year.
