The Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District Football & Netball League wishes to advise of a change to the League’s first weekend of finals.
The first Qualifying Finals, which had been scheduled to be played at Princes Park, Maryborough will now be played at the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve, Carisbrook on Saturday 29th August 2015.
Unfortunately with the Maryborough FC’s final home game of the 2015 Bendigo Football Netball League season and the MCDFNL first week of finals occurring on the same weekend, a double booking of Princes Park has occurred on the Saturday.
MCDFNL Operations Manager Scott Carey believes the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve will be a suitable alternative.
“Whilst it is unfortunate the League cannot use Princes Park, the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve is more than capable of holding such an event.”
“The Rec Reserve provides adequate amenities for supporters, as well as fantastic playing facilities for both football and netball.”
“The League’s main priority in making the decision to move the First Qualifying Final was the convenience of two venues within close proximity with the Second Qualifying Final being played at Hedges Oval in Maryborough, which will allow clubs and supporters the opportunity to move between both venues”, Carey commented.
“The League will consider altering start times and venues to assist clubs that are required to move between both venues on the first weekend of finals which we will look at once the final round of home and away matches are completed.”
The move to Carisbrook Recreation Reserve will only affect Qualifying Final day, with finals returning to Princes Park on Sunday 30th August for the First Elimination Final, where they will remain for the remainder of the 2015 MCDFNL Finals Series.
