Here is a link to a short article and news video looking at player payments in the Ovens and Murray League, One club expects to pay $500,000 for a season, and another struggles to pay $200,000.
The amounts, if true, are astounding.
This issue has also benn raised in South Australia and is under investigation by SANFL. League clubs have flagged that players are drifting to the Country lured by hefty contracts. this will be a topic of discussion in Country Football going forward.
