An interesting week in Mid West Football-:
Central Eyre continue on their merry way with a comprehensive hiding of the Tigers. The Districts boys will be disappointed with their showing this time around, after pushing the Bulldogs all they way last round. Bulldog's are building with one round to go prior to finals, all of their recent returning stars through with a clean bill of health, and Tyler Chapman back on the park successfully this week.
Wudinna United break through for their maiden win for 2014 at the expense of the Bombers. Wirrulla captain Jarden Stoetzer came off early in the clash with an ankle injury, which may keep him out for a few weeks, not good news for the Bomber faithful! Wirrulla will be needing to fend off Elliston for a spot in the finals. Is there a flicker of finals hope for the Maggies? Roosters at home next week and their legion of young guns still home from university/ college?
The Hawks held off a persistent Elliston on a soft Elliston Oval following plenty of rain. Not a bad result for either side, the Roosters relatively contained the rampant Hawk machine and remain in the finals hunt. The Hawks having a tune up for the top of table clash next week at Warramboo. What a game that promises to be! Kirk and Tyson Montgomerie back to the fray this week, and Cody Colbung waiting in the wings for a start,
In other grades, The Tigers break through for a close fought win in the reserves at Kyancutta, their first on the oval this year, only banking forfeit points before this. Tiger coach Myles Tomney will have deservedly enjoyed his Saturday evening, maybe even a frothy or two to celebrate! Big results in the colts with the Roosters upsetting the Hawks and Tigers beating the Bulldogs, both games being decided by three quarter time 10 goal rule, exactly the opposite to round one. Some special guest permit players helped out.
