While the ladders leaders went about their business in a big way, the emerging Roosters claimed another highly fancied victim at home.
Hot on the heals of a their stirring win against the Hawks, the Tigers couldnt follow up, falling to the fast finishing Roosters at Elliston. Word getting out of Roosterland is that training numbers are poor and fitness is an issue, however we suspect this is just a smokescreen as Elliston charged home from behind in the last quarter for the second week in a row. Elliston sitting goalless at halftime, it looked like the Tigers were continuing their journey upward, a close fought third quarter four goals to three gave no indication that the match could swing so violently. In a devastating burst, the red and whites kicked six final quarter goals to one, blitzing the opposition, who pride themselves on a wonderful defense. Tom Rumbelow outstanding with five match winning goals, James Bascomb is in great form, and last weeks heros standing up again, Ben Hurrell, Adams Green and Haarsma and big man Andrew McLeod. For the Tigers, Scott Feltus just loves these close hard games, no surprise he was named best, Jesse Hull and Rhys Bawden up back, Jerel Fromm and Angus Gunn playing good games.
These two meet in a cut throat semi final in a fortnight, and both have signalled to the competition that they are very serious and capable of knocking over the top guns. Have the Roosters gained an edge here? and are they doing boot camp in secret to run away from teams like they are? What is the real story Chad?
The Bulldogs were once again on their goal scoring train, this week being much more accurate kicking an unaccustomary low eight behinds. The Bombers competed well, and certainly not disgraced kicking 11 goals themselves, but the Central Eyre side is a juggernaut when in full flight, and full flight is becoming very regular. Again the goals evenly shared giving headaches to the brain trusts of those competing against them, you cant tag everybody!
Jared Sampson having a fantastic year, Jake Bruce back to his best or very close, Ty Mc Kenna again. Pleasing that Tyler Chapman is back in the colours after an injury interupted season, and his influence will be important come finals. For a complete list of who played well just read the whole team sheet in the Match Centre section of the results above. Wirrulla for their part battled on well. Craig Johnson with four, and he leads the League goalkicking, Simon Webb hard running and work rate, the Henderson boys good again and great having Andrew Bitmead back in the side. The Bombers season has waned after a promising start, but they have competed well struggling to get their best side playing on the same day.
The Hawks returned to the winners circle with a devastating display against the young Magpies at Piednippie. Twelve goals in the first quarter to no score is a clear indication that the sluggish past couple of weeks is behind them, and they will be a force once again as spring approaches. Raining goals, Whitford, Tyson Montgomerie five each, Schumann, Bascombe four each and the joy shared around thereafter. Joe Mc Innis lead the way, his enthusiasm to play in a grand final will be clear, missing last years final with a broken arm. Dylan Kelsh in the ruck, Dillon Cabot, Jake Mc Evoy all in the best, but so many played well. Wudinna United well represented by colts, Ian Jericho, Samuel Buckham, Harry Petty, Logan Elliott and Fraser Douglass, these fellas will be the future of the club and getting valuable lessons with good opposition, Neil Seaman's run and carry, Mark North a hard worker all day (as always) and Josh Mitchell did well.

Reserves
The Hawks have booked a second semi final engagement after toppling Wudinna United at home, a stirring 10 goal win and leading all match, and Wirrulla return to the winners list accounting for a good Bulldog outfit. Only four goals in the margin, and these two could well line up again late in the finals. The Roosters forfeited their match to the Tigers at Elliston.
Colts
Ladder leaders Wudinna United suffered their first loss of the season, with the Hawks snatching a four point win right at the final siren. Hawks out of the blocks early with a great first quater, the match very even thereafter. Again two sides that will meet again in the finals. The Tigers beat the Roosters at Elliston, but the game was closely fought on the oval, just better finishing by the Western District boys. Central Eyre ran hard against the younger Wirrulla lads, and the teams were merged at half time.
