By ZAC MILBANK | Twitter @zacmilbank
McDonald’s SA Under-18 vice-captain Luke Partington has been quick to establish himself as one of the most consistent midfielders at this year’s AFL National Championships.
Partington, who likens himself to former St Kilda and Collingwood star Luke Ball, has featured as one of SA’s highest possession winners while also displaying his talent at the clearances.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the Norwood on-baller talks about his journey to reach the McDonald’s SA Under-18 team, which began in Roxby Downs and went via Tumby Bay before finishing in Adelaide.
The 18-year-old, who finished his Year 12 studies at Immanuel College last year, has begun a traineeship with the Redlegs in which he not only mows the lawn at The Parade but conducts Auskick coaching clinics.
On track for All-Australian Under-18 selection at this year’s carnival, Partington has his sights set on breaking into Norwood’s league team during the second half of the season.
