UNBELIEVABLE BASKETBALL RECORD - 1,000 Senior Matches for Anton Kurray
Basketball Mount Gambier Life Member, Anton Kurray, will achieve an unbelievable milestone when, next Tuesday November 4th, he plays his one thousandth game of basketball in the senior competitions of Basketball Mount Gambier Association.
Anton has been involved in Basketball Mount Gambier programs for many years on his journey to the unprecedented 1000 games in local competitions.
He has given the Cougars. Basketball Club outstanding service over many years, firstly as a player, then as a coach, committee member and President.
He has also played many of these games as a member of the Panthers Men’s B Grade team and in the more recent years as a member of the Social team, the Wreckers.
Such is his passion for the game of basketball, Anton travelled thousands of kilometres each week playing in the Naracoorte and Bordertown Association competitions.
The social aspect of enjoying a beer and a chat with his mates after games plays a part in the achievement of this marathon record.
He continues to be a valued volunteer of the Association and can be relied upon to carry out a diversity of tasks in his typical “quiet achiever” manner. This truly an outstanding and possibly unparalleled achievement at any level across the fields of all sports.
Anton will play this milestone game next Tuesday at 7pm. Basketballers and supporters are invited to witness the game and to join in the celebrations.
