Wellington LFNC Team Trials - nominations close 21st July!

In 2014 the Netball Wellington Centre will again offer the opportunity for players from within the Wellington region to trial for selection in a LFNC representative age-grade team (previously known as NPC).

In order to name a strong team for the LFNC age group we seek a large pool of talented players to select from.  Trials provide a great experience for keen players - we strongly encourage all to put your name forward and give it your best shot and coaches to shoulder-tap their talented players.

Trial eligibility:
Players need to be playing for an affiliated school or club team within the Netball Wellington Centre winter competition.
Players from outside Netball Wellington Centre are invited to trial if their own netball centre is unable to field their own team.  If affiliated to an outside centre (Netball Wairarapa, Netball Kapiti, Kapi Mana Netball Centre or Netball Hutt Valley Centre), trialists will need to advise their own netball centre that they are trialing to allow the centre to budget to cover your individual costs of $1,000 for travel to Auckland for Nationals, accommodation, meals, recovery food, rental cars and training venue hire if you make the team.

This season we intend to name a travelling team AND also run a wider training squad.

Rep Fees:
Individual players are required to contribute $425 as a travelling team member towards the costs mentioned above and a reduced rate of $100 as a wider squad member.  All members will receive a rep training tee shirt and team photo as part of their fees.  As per NWC policy, any players who have already been selected for Netball Wellington Centre representative teams in 2014 (U15/U17/U19) will have their fees capped at $500 therefore only pay the difference.  Please note, this cap does not apply to representatives selected in U23 reps as this team is organised under the Netball Central Zone.

Players may self-nominate or coaches/sports coordinators/parents may nominate on behalf of the player with their consent.
If nominating on behalf of someone else, please advise player so they know to attend trials.

Trials Dates:
Trials are held at the ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie in Wellington on the following three dates:

* Tuesday 22nd July 2014 from 7.00pm - 9.00pm
*  Sunday 27th July 2014 from 10.00am - 12.00pm
* Tuesday 29th July 2014 from 7.00pm - 9.00pm

We ask that you please attempt to make yourself available to attend all trials in order to allow Selectors the best opportunity to observe you.

Inability to attend all trial dates:
While we strongly recommend that trialists make themselves available to attend ALL trials, due consideration may be granted to those who indicate their unavailability upon submission of their representative trial nomination form and provide a valid reason for their absence. Please therefore be sure to incidate any absences clearly so as not to unfairly disadvantage yourself.  In special circumstances a dispensation may be granted to those who provide a valid reason – please enquire.

Before trialing, please make yourself aware of the following information including team training and tournament commitments.  All successful trialists must be available to attend.
