Central Pulse Team Manager Jo Holmes has received an international call-up, with selection as Team Manager of the 2015 FAST5 Ferns, who are looking to retain the world title they have held since 2012.

Jo has nearly a decade of managerial experience under her belt and has just completed her third full season with the Central Pulse, having also managed the Wellington side in six National Championship campaigns and acted as Team Liaison for the Malawi Queens during their Wellington match of the 2013 New Zealand tour.

Having forged a successful career out of managing elite netball teams, Jo is delighted to receive international recognition. “This is an amazing opportunity for me and I am really looking forward to my involvement with the FAST5 Ferns team and learning from this experience,” she explained.

Central Pulse and Netball Central Zone CEO Carolyn Young sees Jo’s appointment as having benefits throughout the region. “I’m delighted to see Jo be given this fantastic opportunity: it’s personally great for her and also for Netball Central Zone to be developing young people and growing their skills.

“Success is all about taking the opportunity when it presents itself and I’m sure Jo will make the most of this chance to work with an international team at a high profile tournament. She is very organised as a person and will be working hard to learn everything about this exciting form of the game. Undoubtedly our Zone will benefit from Jo’s international experience.”

The new manager will recognise some familiar faces in the FAST5 Ferns squad, with Central Pulse Captain Katrina Grant and legendary shooter Irene van Dyk set to play key roles in the FAST5 Netball World Series which takes place at Auckland’s Vector Arena on 8-9 November.
