Waimarama Taumaunu
A top class defender during her playing career, former Silver Ferns captain Waimarama Taumaunu has a strong netball pedigree across all facets of the game, forging a unique resume as a widely respected player, coach and administrator.
Taumaunu represented the Silver Ferns from 1981-91 which included winning gold at the 1987 World Championships before hanging up her bib and becoming immersed in other aspects of the sport.  Taumaunu’s early coaching stints were with the Wellington provincial team and the PIC Netball Club in the national league, her teams clinching both titles in 1996. Her early Silver Ferns coaching aspirations were put on hold when Taumaunu accepted the position of National Performance Director of the All England Netball Association from 1998-2003. It was the first time a New Zealander had been hired on a fulltime contract to run netball in another country.
Taumaunu got her first taste of international coaching as the assistant for England at the 2003 World Championships before returning home. She had stints as the NZA team coach and two terms as Silver Ferns assistant coach 1997-1998, and 2008-2011 before assuming the head coaching role in late 2011.  Taumaunu was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to netball in the 1992 New Year Honours and was inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.  She was also inducted into the Māori Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

Kirsten Hellier
1997-1998 Halberg Winner & Coach of the Year award

An award winning former Coach of Gold Medalist Valerie Adams and successful athlete in her own right having won several medals including silver at the 1994 Commonwealth Games.  As an athlete Kirsten achieved nine national championship titles in Javelin,and was the first New Zealand Woman to exceed the 50m & 60m mark. She represented New Zealand at World Junior, World Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic Games.  Over 25 years experience in her highly acclaimed coaching career starting in 1990 when she became self coached and went on to coaching others in throwing events in 1996/97. Kirsten has coached numerous athletes to Olympic and World championship level, the most successful being Valerie Adams who has won every athletic title possible from World Youth to Olympic Games and is currently working with up and coming star Jacko Gill and was advisor to the China Athletics Association.  She's spent 14 years working at secondary school level with Macleans College and mostly recently Howick College as Director of Sport. In 2007 and 2008 Kirsten received the prestigious Halberg Coach of the year Award – reflecting her talent as a world class coach.  She is currently Netball New Zealand National Coach Development Manager.

Leigh Gibbs
Former Silver Ferns coach and captain & former Tactix coach
Leigh started her netball career early representing Otago from 1974 to 1976 and Canterbury from 1977 to 1986.  She played for the Silver Ferns from 1978 to 1987, captaining the team in 1986 and 1987. In 1979 the team came 1st equal in the World Championship. The team she captained in 1987 won the championship held in Scotland. No other team got within 10 goals of the Silver Ferns.  Leigh has also coached netball extensively. Contracted to coach Canterbury for three different seasons since 1988.  Coached the New Zealand Under 21 team in 1991 and 1992 - won the World Championship in 1992).  Coached the Canterbury Flames – 1998, 1999, 2001 and the Tactix in 2012 and 2013.  She was the Silver Ferns Assistant Coach from 2001 to 2007 - highlights include 2003 World Champions and 2006 Commonwealth Gold medalists.  She was also a New Zealand netball umpire from 1987 to 1993.  Leigh established a sports science network, a sports coach buddy system for elite players, and new initiatives for emerging elite players at Lincoln University, targeting selected players. In the Northern Hemisphere’s 1999-2000, season Leigh was the National Performance Director of Welsh Netball.  Leigh was made an Officer of the Order of New Zealand Merit for services to netball in the 2001 New Years Honours.  She has held a variety of roles with Netball New Zealand including Talent Development Manager, Coach Development Manager and Community Netball Manager and Silver Ferns’ Technical Advisor.  She retired from coaching in 2014 and is currently Netball Mainland's High Performance Manager.

Adrienne Morrin
Former NZ U21 Assistant Coach and World Youth Cup 2013 winner and current Netball NZ National Training Manager

Tanya Dearns
Former Silver Fern and 2016 Mojo Pulse Head Coach
Tanya has an impressive coaching resume including work in Australia and the Northern Hemisphere, as well as significant head coach experience in the New Zealand domestic competition.  10 years of service to Wellington netball includes playing for and coaching the Capital Shakers. Coached the Western Flyers.  Represented the Silver Ferns between 1990-93 and 1996-99 - competed at the 1990 Commonwealth Games.  Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic Assistant Coach in 2013.  Also an elite basketballer, playing professionally in Australia and also representing Wellington for many years.  General Manager of the Bay Hawks National Basketball League franchise - awarded 2014 Administrator of the Year award in her first year in the role.  Fulfilled roles as a TV commentator, motivational speaker, events manager and political advisor in roles all centred around elite sport.

Te Aroha Keenan
Former Silver Fern, Northern Mystics Coach, NZ U21 Coach and current coach of National Secondary School Champions Mt Albert Grammer School
36 years of active involvement in grass roots, secondary school and club netball.  While her coaching skills have encompassed all levels of the game, secondary schools netball has become one of her greatest passions.  Te Aroha Keenan is a coach and former Silver Fern.  Te Aroha Keenan played for the Silver Ferns in the 1980s.  She later coached the Cook Islands national team at the 1999 Netball World Championships as well as a multinational Team Pasifika in a test series against New Zealand,the New Zealand U21 team which won the 2005 World Youth Netball Championships, and as of 2008 became the New Zealand A coach.  Keenan was Assistant Coach for the Northern Mystics in the inaugural 2008 season of the ANZ Championship. and replaced Yvonne Willering as Head Coach for the 2009 season.  During her coaching role, she took leave as Deputy Principal at Mt Albert Grammar School in Auckland. After two years as Head coach for the Mystics, Keenan announced after the 2010 season that she would step down from the position, and would return to teaching. She then went on to co-coach the Mt Albert Grammer School team who have achieved four successive College Netball titles since 2012 and held the NZ Secondary School title for three successive years since 2012.  This year she was also appointed Aotearoa Maori Secondary Schools Team Head Coach for 2015.

Dennis Slade
Senior Lecturer - School of Sport Science at Massey University and author of Transforming Play: Teaching Tactics & Game Sense
Dennis G. Slade, MPhil, is a senior lecturer and coordinator of the BEd secondary physical education degree at Massey University in Palmerston North.  He has played national and international sport and is currently a member of the New Zealand men’s masters field hockey team. He has had a long career in teaching physical education and coaching sport.  Dennis has presented numerous workshops on TGfU and game sense approaches to game instruction in New Zealand. His research interests include youth and masters sport, the TGfU and game sense methodologies, and physical activity.
Transforming Play: Teaching Tactics and Game Sense is a book that helps you teach general tactics and gross motor skills that students can apply to many sports including basketball, soccer, badminton and netball. The book offers great tools for teaching attack and defense tactics, team formations, and man-to-man and zone defenses.

Deslea Wrathall
Current
Sport Director at Queen Margaret College and Game Development and Operations Manager for Porirua Basketball
Attended University of North Carolina working with Women's Tar Heels Coaching Staff. Dual International athlete - member of the 1982 World Champion White Sox and the 1992 World Champion NZ Women's Touch Team. 2003 New Zealand Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.  Served as Performance Services Manager for NZAS Central since 2004 to 2007.  Took up NZ Academy of Sport Performance Services Consultant role in 2007.  Coached Porirua to the New Zealand Under-19 Basketball Championship in 2007.  Coach of the New Zealand Junior Tall Blacks for 2012.  Number of years with High Performance Sport New Zealand working with a range of Elite athletes from a number of sports until 2013.  Receipient of International Olympic Basketball Coaching Scholarship to USA Nov 2014.  Coach of the Year - College Sport Wellington 2014.  Head Coach for NZ Maori Women for 2013 -2015.  Service to Sport Porirua Sports Awards. 

Chris Greenacre
Former professional footballer.  Current Wellington Phoenix Assistant Coach.
Spent 17 years as a professional footballer and retired in 2012 at Wellington Phoenix.
Greenacre finished his impressive playing career with a three-season stint at the Phoenix during which he scored 19 goals in 84 appearances. Greenacre retired at the end of the 2011/12 A-League season to become the Phoenix’s assistant coach and was appointed interim boss for the final five games of following Ricki Herbert’s resignation in February.  Greenacre finished his impressive playing career with a three-season stint at the Phoenix during which he scored 19 goals in 84 appearances.  Before coming to New Zealand he played over 350 games in England, including time at Manchester City and Tranmere Rovers where he scored 52 goals in 150 appearances.  Info provided courtesy of this link

Coach Accelerator Manager at High Performance Sport New Zealand.  Coaches who are currently involved in the programme, or who have graduated from the programme, have produced world champions, world record holders, Olympic medallists, Commonwealth Games medallists, and World Cup medallists. Support personnel for the ANZ Championship and other NZ based netball games statistics teams since 2010.  Wellington Victoria University Blue Award recipient for services to netball - October 2013.  Zone Statistician Coordinator for Netball New Zealand in 2010.  Results System Administrator at Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010.  International Technical Official at World Netball Championships 2007.
