Championchip Fairest and Best Ellie Blackburn (V) heads a talented list of 23 players selected from the U18 Youth Girls National Championships. Ellie was the stand out player recording a score of 49 votes out of a possible 60. Blackburn and Sabrina Traub (Team WA) shared the leading goal scorer award with 7 goals each for the Championships.
One player who was disappointed at not being announced in the team at the conclusion of the Championships was Lauren Osborne, Team WA's co-captain. Due to a clerical error she was initially omitted from the All Stars but after a recount has joined the team righfully.
16 of the All Stars will be invited to participate in the 2012 AFL Women's High Performance Academy where they will join the 30 best players from the Women's Championships. There they will learn from AFL coaches and former AFL players to further enhance their understanding and skill development.
