Under 12 Boys (2)

Bellarine Storm 51 defeated Sunbury (3) 24

Best players: Will Herron, Kalan Tatlock, Saxon Copeland

Game report: The boys had a sloppy first half, but came out firing in the second.  There was some great passing and a lot of excellent team work.  The boys worked hard in defence and created a lot of steals and turnovers.  The boys shooting was spot on in the second half.  Our small boys also worked hard in rebounds and won the ball quite a bit.  Excellent work boys, very proud of how you have been playing, keep up the great team work and tough defence.

Under 14 Boys (2)

Bellarine Storm 39 defeated Coburg (3) 21

Best Players: Henry Walsh, Bryce Nurnaitis, Baxter Nielson, Ben Crombie

Top Scorers: Henry Walsh, Baxter Nielson, Ben Crombie, Bryce Nurnaitis

Game summary: Pressure was the theme of the night for the boys this week and they didn't disappoint. They started well and were able to restrict the Coburg team to just four points for the first quarter. The second quarter was another of miserly play. The opposition once again kept to four points. Our ability to either restrict their movement up the court or totally stop any entry into the key was outstanding, giving us a healthy 15-point lead at the half time break. In the second half we were only able to extend our lead to eventually win by eighteen points with game opening up a little in the last quarter. The highlight of this section of the game was the emergence of our two big men. Their rebounding and offensive work together was impressive and proved too much for Coburg.  This gave the team a great boost and was exciting to watch. Well done Henry and Bryce.

Best Players: Eliza Kramer, Eve Braslis, Georgia McKinnon

Top scorers: Eve Braslis (15pts), Raini Matthews (8), Eliza Kramer (8)

Game Summary: A disappointing first half saw the girls down by as much as 16 at the main break. The girls played with more intensity in the second half, and were lucky enough to escape with a draw.  Poor shooting and shot selection will be a focus at training.
