Game summary: On a stiflingly hot night for basketball the boys did an awesome job at attacking the opponents’ weaknesses. The change to the press worked really well and the boys played inside the D again as they did last week passing at the right time. Great offensive movement with boys all playing to their own strengths. They didn’t give up and played hard until the end. Fantastic first win for the year. Well done.

Under 14 Girls (1)

Under 14 Girls (2)

Bellarine Storm 27 lost to Altona (4) 34

Best Players: Emma Badrock, Lily Davis

Game summary: An under-strength Under 14 (2) Girls took on Altona (4) at Drysdale in hot conditions. Once again we let the opposition get a couple of early baskets from turnovers and were on the back foot from the start forcing us to play catch-up until half time.

The second half saw a better defensive effort with Tyla Gibson and Tahlia Taverna forcing the opposition to turn the ball over on a number of occasions allowing the fast break. Unfortunately these fast break opportunities were not converted into points allowing Altona to maintain a five point lead throughout.

Lily Davis was again strong at both ends of the court with a number of blocked shots, rebounds and second chance baskets. Overall there was an improved performance this week in trying conditions that saw a better effort on the defensive end and a reduction in turnovers.

Under 16 Girls

Bellarine Storm 47 lost to Latrobe 60
