BELLARINE STORM - COACHING POSITIONS for 2015/16
The Bellarine Storm Representative Basketball Program is seeking expressions of interest from Coaches and Assistant Coaches for the 2015/16 season.
The Storm Program continues to grow and develop players to their potential to compete at the highest level. With 12 teams representing the Club in VJBL competitions this year, we will be looking at similar or increased numbers for the 2015/16 season.
All coaches will be given the opportunities and encouraged to attend educational sessions, coaching clinics and accredited coaching courses throughout the 2015/16 season under the guidance and support of BPBA Development Manager, David Herbert.
Interested coaches are required to meet the following criteria:
- Attendance at ALL games (this will involve travel throughout the State on Friday nights for VJBL competitions)
- The ability to conduct, train and communicate with players in a professional and informative manner
- NCAS Level 1 accreditation or intention to complete the course prior to, or within, the competition season
- Working with Children Check and VJBL Statutory Declaration
- Attendance at all 2015/16 selection/try-out dates in September 2015 (dates TBC)
- Weekly attendance at training sessions as scheduled by the Storm Coordinator (generally Sundays, with some teams opting for additional mid-week sessions)
- Regular attendance at coaches meetings
- Coaches are expected to canvas the BPBA domestic competition to scout for potential players for the Storm program
- Adherence to the Basketball Victoria Coaches Code of Conduct
The selection of coaches will be undertaken by a Panel of Selectors led by BPBA Development Manager, David Herbert and will then be ratified by the BPBA Committee of Management before announcements are made.
