Adelaide City claim inaugural Charity Cup

Adelaide City have continued their Cup success after claiming the inaugural Football Federation SA (FFSA) Charity Cup this evening at Adelaide Shores Football Centre. 

The black and whites defeated 2014 South Australian Champions Croydon Kings 2-1 in front of a crowd of 870 in regular time. 

Kings Mohammd Kamara opened up the scoring in the second half of the match however City’s Captain Matthew Halliday responded shortly after, following a slick pass from Nicholas Bucco. 

Michael Mullen who joined Adelaide City this season from Para Hills Knights was the second to score for the side, giving them the win over Croydon. 

The FFSA Charity Cup followed the curtain raiser match between West Adelaide and Victorian side South Melbourne. 

West Adelaide claimed the win over the visitors 2-1 following goals from West Adelaide’s Ricardo Da Silva and Alex Rideout. 

Football Federation SA thanks all who attended the inaugural Charity Cup competition tonight that will see all gate takings and donations go directly to FFSA supported charity, beyondblue

The football action continues with Round 1 of the PlayStation4 National Premier League commencing this coming Wednesday 11 February at Adelaide Shores Football Centre with Croydon Kings facing MetroStars SC.
