In day four of the Australian Masters Games, Canberra Old Boys 50+ faced Bornaderry FC in the 50+ men's division.

Both sides started defensively, and Canberra made the first chance with a patient passing build up that set up a one on one with the keeper, but went wide.

Bornaderry soon gained confidence after this and put more men forward to create more frequent attacks, but some inaccurate passing handed possession back to the opposition. Bornaderry continued to make more chances, but the game largely remained in the midfield as both sides attempted to break the other down. 

After a long spell of midfield stalemate, Bornaderry pushed forward, setting up a shot on an empty goal, which extraordinarily hit the crossbar and went out of play. Half time sent both teams out scoreless in a somewhat uneventful first half, with Bornaderry looking the stronger side.

The second half maintained the midfield battle tempo of the first half, with neither side able to edge the other out aside from the occasional attack from Bornaderry. Canberra Old Boys forced the pressure as they pushed more numbers forward, which Bornaderry struggled to contain at times.

Bornaderry opened the scoring 8 minutes before the final whistle with a curling shot from outside of the box that the goalkeeper left unchallenged. Canberra Old Boys were unable to mount a serious attack from then as Bornaderry reaped the momentum from their late goal, the game finishing on a narrow one nil.
