Rajcic's Season Ends Short

Football Federation SA unfortunately confirms that Lady Reds Captain Marijana Rajcic sustained a season ending injury in yesterday’s Westfield W-League match against the Newcastle Jets.

Rajcic came off the pitch at Coopers Stadium in the 38th minute after a swift change in direction following the ball ended with her no longer able to play on.

Following scans on her right knee this morning, Rajcic confirmed that she had torn her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will require surgery.

Rajcic returned to the Lady Reds squad after two seasons out of the Westfield W-League. Disappointed that the season has been cut short Rajcic remains positive.

“I want to thank the fans for everything. Our fans have been good supporters for numerous years and especially for me personally this year it has been fantastic.

“It is my first year leading the club and I have really enjoyed it, I guess it was a short spell but hopefully I will be back for more.”

Football Federation SA wishes ‘MJ’ the best for her recovery.
