ACS Athlete Signs Professional Contract

Last week, Tomas Maricic, an athlete of the Australian College (ACS) of Sport Football Program signed a contract with Cypriot First Division Club Anagennisi Deryneia FC.

During Tomas’s time as an athlete on the program, he believed the tutelage he received enabled him to understand the game of football in much more depth and detail – and critically, become much more confident on the field.

In the coming weeks, ACS, in partnership with Football Federation South Australia (FFSA) is pleased to begin their recruitment process for 2017.

The ACS delivers a full-time, high performance program that presents an opportunity for young school leavers who aspire to become a professional athlete.

Student athletes complete two years of full-time high performance training and development under the guidance of Director of Coaching, Phil Stubbins and his high performance team while simultaneously completing nationally accredited Diplomas in Sport Development and Leadership and Management.

All content delivered during the program is football specific using world-leading technologies - be it all the necessary aspects of high performance, sport science theory, life skills or the business of professional sport.

Located at the world-class FFSA Campus facilities at the Elite Systems Football Centre, there really is no better way to develop as a person and an athlete whilst adapting to what life as a professional footballer may well be like.

Players and parents are invited to attend the upcoming information sessions at Coopers Stadium on Monday 5th September and Tuesday 6th September at 6:30 – 7:15pm.

You can confirm your attendance or receive additional information about the program by emailing football@collegeofsport.edu.au or calling 1300 859 880 and noting your preferred session.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
