SA Indigenous Football Festival

The South Australia Indigenous Football Festival was held at Burton Park this weekend with over 140 participants involved in the event.

The Winners of the Boys U13 final was Le Fevre Primary School who defeated Nunga All-Stars and in the Girls U13 Roma Mitchell Secondary School, defeated the Elizabeth Fremont/Blakeview PS combined team. 

The winners of the U13 age division will now represent SA at the National Indigenous Football Festival in Alice Springs this week.

The national tournament is held between Friday November 2 and Monday November 5.

The winners of the Boys U15’s were Nunga All-Stars, who beat Wiltja Warriors and the winners of the Girls U15’s were Roxy’s Rockets, who beat Port Augusta Secondary School. 

Westfield Matilda Danielle Brogan was also in attendance to assist with presentations. 

FFSA Multicultural Officer Angus Wheaton was delighted with the event.

“Congratulations to the winners and all participants of SA’s Indigenous Football Festival,” he said.

“We wish them all the best for the National Indigenous Football Festival next weekend. The tournament itself was a great success and we look forward to further events in the future.”
