FFSA welcomes UniSA FC to State League 2
Football Federation SA (FFSA) welcomes the University of South Australia (UniSA FC) to State League 2 from the beginning of the 2017 Season.
This addition to our Senior Men’s competition will mean FFSA’s PlayStation 4 National Premier League, State League 1 and State League 2 will each feature 12 teams, and a top six Finals Series next season.
In the lead up to the 2017 Season, FFSA have also welcomed Adelaide University and Modbury Vista into State League 2. Six new teams have now entered State League 2 since the end of the 2015 season.
UniSA FC Chairman, Tony Zollo, is optimistic ahead of the 2017 Season.
“It’s great to be involved at State League level,” said Tony.
“As a Club we’re looking forward to a bigger and brighter future.”
Following this announcement, FFSA Chief Executive, Michael Carter, believes everything is in place for a successful 2017 Season.
“The inclusion of University of South Australia into State League 2 now completes our plan to have three divisions of 12 teams in our Senior Men’s competition,” said Michael.
“The Club in partnership with UniSA Sport have plans to develop the land immediately east of the Magill Campus. This will result in more open space for football and will in turn support the continued growth of the sport in South Australia.”
