Indigenous Football Development Plan

Indigenous Football Development Plan
During the months of May and June, the Game Development team has been conducting the Football Federation Australia Indigenous Football Development Plan with 4 schools throughout South Australia.

The schools represent three metropolitan schools, and one regional school.  They are Kaurna Plains Area School, Roma Mitchell Secondary School, Port Augusta Secondary School and Woodville High School.

The FFA Indigenous Football Development Plan aims to increase participation with a focus on the 'No School, No Play' model, with a strong emphasis on health education.  In conjunction with Federal Government and the FFA, The Indigenous Football Festival is a great opportunity for indigenous children to play football in an organised and structured environment, so they may enjoy the unique experience of a festival-like atmosphere full of fun, enjoyment and participation.

At the completion of the program, a State team for both boys and girls will be selected to participate in the Indigenous Football Festival which will be held in Alice Springs in July.  The Indigenous Football Festival is a three day event with 12 teams in total participating. The festival will cater for boys and girls aged 13-15, with six teams representing each category.  Teams will consist of 14 players including a goalkeeper and two team officials.

Attending the Festival will be teams from Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Moree, Brisbane, Borroloola and Alice Springs.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
