FFSA Head Coach of Referees extends contract

Football Federation SA is pleased to announce that it has extended the contract of State Head Referee Coach Craig Zetter.

Craig, a former FIFA Referee and four-time FFSA Referee of the Year, will remain the FFSA Head Referee Coach until December 2012 after being appointed in the newly created role in January 2011.

After a career spanning 19 years, including 12 years as a NSL and A-League Referee, Craig retired from active officiating at the end of 2010.

Craig’s role will continue to see him work closely with the FFSA Referee Department and State Referee Technical Committee in developing training and coaching programs for match officials in FFSA Competitions, as well as being responsible for training and providing coaching support to South Australian-based Football Federation Australia Match Officials.

Craig admitted he is delighted with the progress and development of refereeing in South Australia.

“I am very happy to continue working in my role as Head Referee Coach. Refereeing is in a good position in South Australia and I’m confident we can continue to achieve fantastic results,” he said.

Football Federation SA CEO Michael Carter emphasised the importance of Craig’s extended appointment.

“FFSA considers the development of its Match Officials an integral part of the continual success of the game. I’m confident in Craig’s ability to continue the good work he and his coaching staff are doing to support South Australian Match Officials,” he said.
