Nine FFSA Match Officials appoint to HAL Panel

Football Federation Australia has recently released the Hyundai A-League Match Official Panel for the 2012-13 campaign and Football Federation SA is pleased to announce nine FFSA match officials and four Assessors have been selected.

After being appointed to make his debut in last seasons Hyundai A-League,  FFSA 2011 Referee of the Year Regis Queffelec has been selected on the Referees Panel while 23 year-old Rick Schneider has been selected as a Fourth Official.

Queffelec admitted he was delighted to have been named on the HAL Referees Panel for the upcoming season.

“It's an important milestone in my career and something me, my family and mentors have worked towards for a long time. However I don't forget that the toughest part of the work is ahead of me and that's what I want to focus on,” he said.

Schneider was also looking forward to a bigger and greater challenge this season.

“It’s pretty exciting for me and it’s a huge opportunity to be involved at an elite level. I have a bit of an idea about what to expect from my experience on the National Youth League Panel last season, but every match has its challenges,” he said.

Paul Cetrangolo and Matthew Cream have both been re-selected with the pair currently holding a 2012 FIFA Badge.

Stephen Toth, Daniel Goodwin and Curtis Wordsworth have also been re-appointed as Assistant Referees for the upcoming campaign, while Craig Zetter and Wayne Dade will continue as Assessors.

For the Westfield W-League, Maddison Kennedy was selected as an Assistant Referee for her second season, joining Ana Nevjestic.

Former FIFA Assistant Referee and Current National Referee Technical Committee Member Airlie Keen has been appointed to the W-League and National Youth League Assessor Panel for the first time along with FFSA Referee Recruitment and Development Officer Nathan Magill.

FFSA Referee Head Coach Craig Zetter acknowledged it was a great achievement for South Australia to be represented so strongly on the national stage.

“It’s great to see FFSA Referees being acknowledged for their hard work and dedication with selection on the National Panel for the approaching HAL season,” he said.

“For SA to have 5 assistant referees selected on the panel shows we have some of the most talented officials in Australia.”

“It is fantastic to also see Referees from SA being acknowledged for their commitment and advancement with the promotion of Regis to the HAL Referees Panel and Rick to the Fourth Official’s Panel.”
