Four FFSA NTC Boys rewarded with AIS Scholarship

Football Federation SA’s NTC Boys enjoyed a successful Institute Challenge in Canberra last week, finishing top of the Bonus Points Table and third in the overall standings.

The success has now culminated in four squad members being offered Australian Institute of Sport Scholarships.

Mark Ochieng and Dylan Smith are expected to join the AIS this month while Jordan Pudler and Marc Marino will follow early next year.

All four were also selected in the All-Star team along with fellow FFSA NTC player Daniel Margush, which defeated NSW IS 2-0 with Marino and Smith finding the back of the net.

FFSA NTC Boys recorded four wins, two draws and two losses in their eight matches to finish third behind winner NSW IS and QAS.

The squad topped the Bonus Points table with 36 points, five clear of its nearest rival, with points awarded for technical content and the proper execution of the 1-4-3-3 formation.

Coach Carl Veart said he was thrilled the squad’s performance throughout the tournament.

I was really happy the way the players applied themselves. It was an outstanding performance from the team for the whole week,” he said.
