2013 State Referees Technical Committee

Football Federation SA is pleased to announce the members appointed to the 2013 State Referees Technical Committee (SRTC) and in particular welcome MetroStars goalkeeper Daniel Godley.

Godley has played over 300 Senior matches in South Australia and has recorded 15 National Soccer League appearances for Adelaide City.

His inclusion to the SRTC in 2013 is a significant step forward in improving Referee development throughout the state.

Godley’s involvement in the many facets of football gives him a unique insight in to the game and his contribution will be valuable to the progression of Refereeing in SA.

“I think it’s a great initiative for Referees to want to hear the point-of-view of players. Hopefully what I add will assist in the development of Referees. I look forward to contributing to the State Referees Technical Committee,” said Godley.

FFSA CEO Michael Carter applauded the appointment of Godley to the SRTC for 2013.

“We’re very happy to have a player on board with someone of Daniel’s experience. There’s no doubt his contribution will be highly beneficial,” he said.

In addition to Godley’s appointment to the Committee, and in line with recent advice from Football Federation Australia on the structuring of State Referee Technical Committees, current FFSA Head Referee Coach Craig Zetter, has been appointed as Chair of the Technical Committee taking over from Bill Tattersall.

Football Federation SA would like to thank Mr. Tattersall for his leadership of the Committee in 2012 and is pleased to re-appoint him as a Committee Member for 2013.

The purpose of the Referee Technical Committee is to oversee the development and training of Match Officials and Referee Recruitment and Development Officer Nathan Magill admitted the 2013 SRTC is well positioned ahead of the upcoming season.

“FFSA is fortunate to have such a vastly experienced group from all levels of football,” he said.

“Daniel’s addition ensures that FFSA considers another perspective which will continue to lead the way for the development of the Match Officials.”

“The SRTC is looking forward to the year ahead and is excited about the upcoming campaign.”
