Coca-Cola Federation Cup heads to Mount Gambier

Football Federation SA goes regional this weekend with the opening round of the Coca-Cola Federation Cup kicking-off on Saturday.

2012 Cup finalist Para Hills, along with State League side Adelaide Olympic travel to Mount Gambier for a double-header with Gambier clubs Apollo SC and Inter SC respectively.

The Knights take on Apollo at 1:30pm followed by Inter and Olympic which gets underway at 3:30pm.

To celebrate the opening round of the Coca-Cola Federation Cup in Mount Gambier, FFSA Game Development Staff, led by former Adelaide United striker Cristiano, will be conducting a series of School Holiday Clinics.

Through the combined efforts of FFSA and Junior Leagues sponsor Mamee, these School Holiday Clinics have been subsidised and are free of charge.

There will be three sessions for different age groups starting with children aged between 5-7, followed by 8-10 year-olds and finishing with kids 11-13 years old.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for up-and-coming players to experience the unique coaching style of Cristiano,” said FFSA Game Development Manager John Mundy.

“There is also the chance to watch some of the best players from our State Competition on the Saturday. It’s great for us to be able to support the local game and what a fantastic way to end the School Holidays for the kids.”

Also courtesy of Mamee, every spectator who attends the double-header will be in the running to win two (2) admission tickets to the Hyundai A-League Foxtel Allstars-Manchester United match at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Saturday July 20.

FFSA CEO Michael Carter admitted he was excited about all the weekend’s action in Mount Gambier.

“We believe this is a great opportunity to promote football in the South East,” he said.

“We are pleased that the travelling clubs, Para Hills and Adelaide Olympic, have embraced the opportunity to promote their clubs in Mount Gambier and are looking forward to the opening round of the Coca-Cola Federation Cup.”

“FFSA wishes all competing teams the best of luck.”
