FFSA Skill Acquisition Program Club Visit - Campbelltown City

Football Federation SA conducted a Skill Acquisition Model Session and a Game Training Model Session at Campbelltown City Junior Soccer Club on Monday June, 3.

The Skill Acquisition session was run by FFA Skills Acquisition Trainer Richie Alagich and is designed to to increase the knowledge of coaches and equip them with new coaching methods to provide youth players with a progressive learning environment in line with the FFA National Curriculum

Alagich conducted the session using the 2013 Skilleroo scholarship holders which focused the Skill Acquisition Phase for 9-13 year-olds.

Markov conducted the Game Training session using the 2013 U/14 Skilleroos which focuses on the 13 – 16 year age groups as set out in the FFA National Curriculum.

Skills Acquisition Trainer Alagich was delighted with the efforts of Campbelltown City Technical Director Michael Matricciani and all the Campbelltown coaches in attendance.

“We were very happy with the turnout and level of enthusiasm shown to help provide a better learning environment that benefits all young players,” said Alagich.

Matricciani said the sessions were very beneficial and he was also thrilled with the response from the coaches at Campbelltown City.

“A big thanks to the FFSA and Skillaroos players, and coaches Richie and Elvis for putting on what was a great night for our Campbelltown coaches,” he said.

“At Campbelltown City SC, we are lucky to have so many keen coaches wanting to learn and better themselves and to have 30 out of the 32 coaches attend both sessions was great for the club.”

“It was pleasing to see so many coaches try the practical sessions that were shown to us by Richie and Elvis. It’s a great idea from FFSA and this will only help the education of coaches in SA.”
