Football Federation SA will be supporting Cancer Council SA’s Call to Arms this coming weekend with 17 clubs taking part in the campaign. 

A total of 122 teams will be wearing yellow arm bands this weekend in the Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s and Juniors Competitions to raise awareness for the worthy cause.

Clubs will be taking collections at games, with Fulham United committing to match each dollar taken in their canteen on the day.

Salisbury United will be holding a charity match on Friday 19 July at Steve Jarvis Park with a Salisbury United Select XI will be taking on a Playford Patriots Select XI.

Both teams will be made up of non playing coaches and committee members, including a minimum of 3 females per team.

The game kicks off at 8pm, following a small sided gala at 6pm and Salisbury v Playford U10’s game at 7pm.

Entry is a gold coin donation with all proceeds from the event being donated directly to the Call to Arms campaign.

FFSA will be running two competitions in conjunction with Call to Arms, with prizes being awarded to the club who raises the most amount of money for the campaign and to the club who can show they have ‘turned yellow’ for the event. 

Along with Fulham United and Salisbury United, Enfield, Modbury, Para Hills United, Raiders, Comets, Pirates, Para Hills East, West Torrens Birkalla, South Adelaide, Seaford, Northern Demons, MUWFC, Cumberland United Women, Noarlunga United and the Riverland Soccer Association have also joined the Call to Arms in 2013.
