Football Federation SA (FFSA) is pleased to announce the affiliation of the Yorke Peninsula Soccer Association to the FFSA and the SA Junior Soccer Association.

The addition of the Yorke Peninsular Soccer Association into the Football Family brings the total of affiliated associations in South Australia to fourteen. 

Football Federation SA CEO, Michael Carter stated that the affiliation of the Yorke Peninsular Soccer Association is another indication that the sport of football continues to grow in South Australia.

“It is pleasing to see football expand into the regional areas of South Australia and provide opportunities for participants to play the world game.

“The establishment of the Yorke Peninsular Soccer Association is a testament to the hard work and commitment of volunteers in this area and the FFSA will continue to provide ongoing assistance to help develop and grow football in this region.”

Yorke Peninsula Soccer Association Chairman Tim Garfield is pleased with the affiliation and further development of soccer in the region.

“Our goal is to introduce soccer to the Yorke Peninsula and provide the opportunity for youth and children to develop their skills and enjoyment of the game.

“We are looking at developing partnerships this year with rural clubs and associations to secure friendly matches for select age groups so players have the opportunity to play on full size pitches and against different teams and players.

“Yorke Peninsula Soccer Association is keen to support club development in geography and support opportunities for club and league development. This is our short to medium term plan.”
