Preview:

The Round 3 fixture of the Women’s Premier League sees two confident sides, with both Adelaide City and Sturt Marion gaining maximum points from the games they have played.

With Adelaide City having had the BYE in the first round, they come into the game two places and three points below a Sturt Marion side that has convincingly won both of their opening clashes.

Adelaide City coach Edoardo Rosso commented on the tough game ahead.

“Sturt have some new players and are a stronger side than they were last year. They have been training a lot and Sturt Marion coach Tom Ballantyne is very determined.

“We’re always training well and taking it very seriously. We’ll come out this weekend to play our own football. We may have an even younger team this year – if that is even possible from last year – but every player is positive and eager to perform.

“We are focused on the weekend ahead, and it should be a good game.”

In Round 3’s other matches, third-placed MUWFC travel to take on last-placed Fulham United at Collins Reserve.

Fulham United will hope to get their first points of the season, whilst MUWFC look to keep their 100% winning record.

Para Hills Knights welcome FFSA U14/15 to the Paddocks, as they look to bounce back from an away 4-0 defeat by MUWFC.

Both sides will be eager to get their first win for the 2014 season, and the FFSA U14/15 side will be fresh and ready to play after having the BYE last weekend.

Adelaide University will be hosting newcomers West Adelaide at the University Grounds.

On the back of two defeats, Adelaide University will be looking to come out and halt West Adelaide’s faultless start to the season, the team currently sitting at top spot on the table.
