Roma Mitchell Secondary College Football Trials May 29th

RMSC is excited to announce our second Trial for 2015 entry to the Specialist Sport Football Program on May 29th 2014 between 2.00pm – 3.00pm. The Trial will be held at RMSC. A second Trial has been arranged to allow for those students who had NAPLAN obligations.

The Specialist Sports Football Program is an innovative, exciting and demanding course that caters for students with an acknowledged high level of sporting prowess and commitment to Football. The college is keen to build on current programmed classes and to establish a stand alone Girls Football Program in 2015.

The school is welcoming all Girls and Boys from inside and outside the school catchment zone who feel they have the right qualities to be involved. For students to be eligible they must meet the following:

A high level of ability and performance in both a training and competitive environment.

Positive and enthusiastic attitude to support their personal development.

High potential for future development and growth in their identified sport.

A high level of resilience to seek and accept a variety of feedback.

A high level of ability to improve skills and knowledge in all aspects of their schooling

Provide a positive role model for others in their approach to learnin

The Specialist Sport Football Program will also provide the structures and processes that support student access to a range of post secondary school options. This is achieved by offering a broad range of subjects that are directly linked to their chosen sporting pathway. This Program provides students with both SACE and Industry Accreditation (Cert II in Sport and Rec) through Years 8-12.

Students are encouraged to play/compete for a FFSA affiliated club outside of school. As a subject in the 8-12 curriculum, the SSP will ensure that elite and talented sports people concentrate on maximising their potential as athletes, while developing their education, emotional and social well being.

To be involved in the program participants need to attend trials and complete the Specialist Sport Application Form that can be found on the school website. The selection panel is made up of the RMSC coach (FFA “A” Licence accredited) and representatives of the FFSA Male and Female Football Development Team.

Good luck to all Trial participants.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
