Mt Gambier Clinics a Success

Clinics ran by Football Federation SA (FFSA) staff in Mount Gambier over night have been labelled a success in the lead up to the NSR Australia Regional Round visiting the region this coming weekend.

FFSA Game Development Officer Cristiano Dos Santos held a clinic for 32 juniors aged 9-13 years at Apollo Soccer Club while FFSA Head of Men’s Football – National Training Centre, Carl Veart, ran a clinic for 27 boys and girls aged 14-17 years at International Soccer Club.

Cristiano’s clinic focussed on the Skill Acquisition phase of the National Curriculum while Carl’s clinic focused on the Game Training phase.

Additionally, Carl, an ex Socceroo and Adelaide United FC player ran training for the International Soccer Club Seniors following the junior clinic.

The free clinics continue this coming Friday 13 March when FFSA AIA Vitality MiniRoos Officer Igor Negrao and Adelaide City Senior player Alex Sunasky visit Gambier Centrals Soccer Club.

Alex who played junior football at Modbury Vista and Para Hills Knights soccer clubs, was involved in the Adelaide United Youth team and is currently in his fourth season as an Adelaide City Senior player will hold a session along with Igor for boys and girls aged 5-9 years from 5:00pm introducing the AIA Vitality MiniRoos program.

The NSR Australia Regional Round in Mount Gambier concludes on Saturday when 2014 National Champions MetroStars face Adelaide City FC in Round 6 of the PlayStation4 National Premier League at International Soccer Club.

A curtain raiser match between International Soccer Club and Apollo Soccer Club will be held to support the charity beyondblue prior to the Round 6 fixture.
