Futsal State Team Process Confirmed

Following on from Football Federation SA (FFSA) confirmation that all South Australian Futsal State teams will be administered, coordinated and managed  by the FFSA, we are pleased to advise that the Country Futsal State Identification Championships will be held in September (26-27) in Port Augusta as well as the State Futsal Identification Championships in October (10-11, venue TBA).

Futsal has been identified by Football Federation Australia (FFA) and FFSA as a priority for the development of players and a major contributor to the future participation growth in Football nationally and within the state of South Australia.

Futsal is a product that can cater for players wishing to develop their skills and players who wish to compete at a high level or recreational level within the State.

The futsal training squads will consist of 15 players per age group (Boys: U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U19 and Girls: U12, U14, U16, U19) with these squads selected from all affiliated competitions and in particular both the Country and State Championships. The final selection of the State Teams are to be made mid November to then compete in the Football Federation Australia National Futsal Championships in January 2016 in Sydney.

Recently appointed State Futsal Director of coaching, Cristiano Dos Santos will head the process.

Further information relating to nominations and registrations for the Country Futsal State Identification Championships and State Futsal Identification Champions will be provided shortly.

In addition, a local futsal competition lead by FFSA will commence from late September 2015 at The Parks Recreation Centre. To be held weekly on Tuesday’s and Saturdays, the competitions will run for boys, girls, men, women, mixed teams and an inclusive league.

Further information will be posted via the FFSA website for nominations and registrations.
